Organize your closet and reimagine your style—in 90 minutes
YOU ENTER YOUR CLOSET EACH MORNING BEFORE STEPPING OUT INTO THE WORLD.
Isn’t it worth your while to make it a space that’s personal, positive, and unapologetically stylish? Sounds good in theory. In practice, though? It’s a different story. But what if you had access to:
- Seemingly endless outfits idea that make what you own feel fresh again
- A look that’s both professional and personal
- A cohesive wardrobe that seamlessly syncs with all areas of your life
- A system to organize your closet and maximize your wardrobe.
Good news: all of the above is now possible. Because isn’t it time your look finally caught up with your talent?
INTRODUCING THE CLOSET EDIT
The Closet Edit is a 90-minute experience designed to ignite your inner fashion stylist, identify the essentials your wardrobe needs to fire on all cylinders, and spotlight the pieces that are preventing you from truly standing out.
Tailored to fit your specific needs, The Closet Edit is about you and your style. Thanks to a styling tip here or an outfit idea there (and more laughs than you can probably handle in an hour and a half), you’ll come away with renewed focus towards creating looks that make you feel good—not fit in.
With my infectious energy, passion for people, and sophisticated taste, I’ll introduce you to a system of personalizing, organizing, and optimizing your closet to align with your busy, full, and stylish life.
DURING YOUR CLOSET EDIT, WE’LL CONCENTRATE ON FOUR CORE AREAS:
- WHAT’S WORKING
We’ll pick out your wardrobe’s HEROES—the can’t-live-without favorites that work for your style and silhouette—and create five new outfits with pieces you already own.
- WHAT’S MISSING
We’ll identify your EMPTY HANGERS (the essentials that will help you create even more stylish looks) so you can align your style with the image you want to portray.
- WHAT’S IN THE WAY
And those pieces you don’t wear anymore and aren’t suited to your lifestyle? They’ll go into the PASS-IT-ON PILE to be donated or sold.
- WHAT’S NEXT
From how to make the most of a too-small space to tricks on how to ORGANIZE LIKE AN EDITOR, you’ll come away feeling empowered to get dressed each morning long after I’ve left your apartment.
AFTER 90 MINUTES, YOU’LL BE ABLE TO:
- Streamline your closet to make shopping and getting dressed an experience you look forward to
- Sift through fashion websites, social media, and pop culture like a fashion editor to find inspiration that works for you and your style
- Use trends as a supplement—not a necessity—to Standout Style
- Apply simple, but difference-making styling tips to turn ordinary outfits into extraordinary
ABOUT YOUR CLOSET EDITOR
When I got to Lucky, I was charged with managing its fast-paced, high-stress fashion closet with poise and precision. For some of the magazine’s most popular issues—covered by the likes of Lupita Nyong’o, Suki Waterhouse, and Joan Smalls—I organized and merchandised every clothing sample for every shoot. And I can bring the same efficiency and structure I brought to a fashion closet to your closet too.
There’s nothing about fashion that I didn’t learn in the fashion closet. And even though I eventually graduated to the front rows of Fashion Week and behind the scenes at designer showrooms and earned my own nationally syndicated style column “Ask Michael,” I still rely on my lessons from the closet in every aspect of the business. With The Closet Edit, you can elevate your style through my experiences.
Plus, I’m an outsider on the inside. I speak in normal terms—not obnoxious Fashion-with-a-capital-F jargon—and think your life after the clothes is more important than the actual clothes themselves. You’re not a mannequin for me to play dress-up with. You’re a big deal and I’m here to help you unlock your highest possibilities through your look. I created The Closet Edit to help you design a personal style that amplifies you not obstructs you. Because you weren’t made to fit in.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING…
“Michael graciously listened and helped me figure out my style and how to make sense of my closet. The experience has helped me show up in the world as my best self and feel absolutely beautiful.” —Shani Bellegarde
