THE SHOPPER — 30 Must-Have-Them-Now Picks From Our Favorite High-Street Stores

We take shopping pretty seriously here (for proof, look up: We’ve devoted an entire menu tab to our daily “Buy This One Thing” series!). And while we like to mix up the brands and shops we feature, let’s be honest: We’ll always have those go to stores for our most beloved items and basics we know we can count on. With so many items to choose from, it can be a pain to sift through the endless choices. Lucky for you, we’ve eliminated that step, rounding up the hottest pieces we could find from six high-street retailers — Topshop, ASOS, Forever 21, Zara, Joe Fresh and H&M — and what’s most delightful? Not one of the 30 picks below are over $116. You’re welcome!

» TOPSHOP: We’re all about the great prints offered at Topshop, so we found the best of them! We also threw in items that you may have forgotten are so vital to the temperate summer season, including a plastic rain jacket, a baseball cap and a light kimono. Clothes that are fashionable and functional? That’s what we call standout style.

THE SHOPPER: Folk fringe kimono, $90. Monochrome gingham plastic mac, $95. Scarf placement print tunic dress, $116. Flower finger and midi ring, $18.

» ASOS: Although we love the clothes ASOS sells every season, we’ve recently been attracted to their variety of shoes, from practical to whimsical. Try these platforms, ankle boots or comfortable sandals and pair them with one of the other pieces that made the cut!

THE SHOPPER: Jagged flatforms, $42. Influence denim skater skirt, $42. Vintage skirt in tropical print, $73. Shoe Biz leather flat sandals, $96. Army ankle boots, $42.

» FOREVER 21: With so many options, Forever 21 is our sampler store. We like to choose a little bit of everything here to have something different for everyday. A loud, fun jacket for Monday, an easy jumpsuit for the middle of the week and a lace halter crop top ready for Friday night — we even through in some nighttime wear for a cozy night in!

THE SHOPPER: Marled & netted jumpsuit, $38. Tropical print bomber jacket, $43. Open back lace sheath dress, $28. Lace halter crop top, $15. Swiss dot sleep robe, $17.

» ZARA: With its refined style, our next stop offers pieces that are easy to mix and match for the summer, with classic silhouettes and solid colors. From a baby blue trench coat, light enough for those cool summer evenings, to a preppy, bright yellow dress, Zara is a hot spot for seasonal essentials.

THE SHOPPER: Fringe leather shopper, $70. Soft trench coat, $60. Poplin dress with belt, $36. Printed headband, $6. Frill top, $26.

» JOE FRESH: These classic garments will easily transition you from summer to fall, with lightweight options that you can throw a jacket over and where during both seasons. Joe Fresh’s timelessness allows you to purchase pieces that will last you the next few seasons and the several more to come.

THE SHOPPER: Paint print blouse, $39. Polka-dot smoking slipper, $39. Lace flower skirt, $39. Print canvas shorts, $19. Check combination dress, $29.

» H&M: Empowering the inner free spirit, our favorite H&M items inspire a relaxed, boho feel perfect for summer. Our top picks include a roomy cardigan for easy layering, a patterned sarong to wrap around after a day at the beach or pool and an accessory — ear cuffs! — you have probably yet to try.

THE SHOPPER: Patterned sarong, $13. Maxi dress, $35. Long lace cardigan, $80. Ear cuffs, $6. Embroidered Georgette blouse, $60.
